Parent support is essential
There are always so many constraints on family’s time and resources but we all want the best for our children. Research shows that parental involvement in a child’s learning is a key indicator of educational success.
No educational books at home?
Research also shows that a third of children at primary school age in the UK have no books at home. In addition, according to established publishers’ findings, the number of families having no educational books to support school work at home is likely to be substantially higher and could be as much as 90%.
Making a real difference
SKIPS are working with our partners in education and industry to dramatically change the landscape of education in the UK. Empowering parents, teachers and children to embrace the wonder of English literacy and Mathematics numeracy inline with the National Curriculum and in support of classroom lessons.
90% of parents given a SKIPS book used it
SKIPS books are now being used in primary and secondary schools across the UK, enabling parents to help children by having fun with numbers and words. A survey conducted in November 2013 showed 90% of parents given a SKIPS book used it with their child.
100% of parents asked would recommend SKIPS Books
More recently 100% of parents in a recent survey of Stanville school said they would recommend the resources to other parents.
100% said the books had helped their children be more confident in the subject”
In addition 100% of parents of year 1 and year 2 parents said they enjoyed working on the books together and that it had helped them to be closer to their children.
